Simple by design

What an account does and doesn't do

Does: keeps your completed lessons, streak, personal vocabulary and Word Arena best in sync across devices.
Does: records your Verb Run results on the server so they can be ranked. Verb Run’s own on-device counters are not synced — only the score, wave and gates cleared that a run submits.
Does: lets you appear on the Word Arena and Verb Run leaderboards, under a nickname you choose.
Does: lets you show a country flag next to that nickname, if you want one. Leave it blank and nothing is shown.
Does: gives you one switch for occasional email updates — off unless you turn it on — and a Delete my account button that removes everything, leaderboard entries included.
Doesn't: unlock anything. Every lesson, game and tool works exactly the same signed out.
Doesn't: collect anything beyond what it needs: the progress your browser already stored, the email address you sign up with, the nickname you pick, an optional country, and whether you asked for email updates. Nothing else, and no analytics. The full list is in the privacy policy.
Doesn't: show your email to anyone. It is never stored in a table other users can read.

Prefer no account at all? The progress page lets you export a backup file and import it anywhere. That has always worked and still does.
