Core themed words — flip, listen, then play.

Vocabulary sticks when you meet a word several ways. Flip the cards and hear each word here, then open the Gry tab and run the same topic through Match, Memory and Listen.

Piję kawę i jem chleb.
I drink coffee and eat bread.
Moja siostra mieszka w mieście.
My sister lives in the city.
Kupuję bilet na dworcu.
I'm buying a ticket at the station.
Tactic — Say the Polish word out loud the instant you flip the card. Speaking it once beats reading it five times.
Watch out — Learn every noun with its gender (ten / ta / to) from the start — adding gender back later is much harder.

What this lesson covered

This lesson built out your core vocabulary across the themes you'll use most — family, food and the home — through flashcards you can flip and hear. Beyond memorising individual words, the aim was to attach them to whole useful phrases: jestem głodny (I'm hungry), poproszę wodę (water, please), gdzie jest łazienka? (where's the bathroom?). Learning words in themed groups rather than at random gives your memory stronger hooks, and hearing each one spoken helps the sounds settle alongside the spelling. The habit worth keeping is to say each new word aloud in a short sentence of your own, tying it to something real in your life. A solid base of everyday nouns turns the grammar you've learned into sentences you can actually use, and feeds directly into the word games for extra drilling.
